AVOID WRONG ASSOCIATION.
Scripture: Proverbs 13:20 ERV
“Be friends with those who are wise, and you will become wise. Choose fools to be your friends, and you will have trouble”
---------------------------------Association is the platform where relationships tend towards profit or productivity. The danger of wrong association is a disaster for any individual.
The Bible says that God had to take the Israelites around the wilderness so that He could deliver them from a mixed multitude (see Numbers 32:10-13).
They had to go round the wilderness so that the mixed multitude (wrong association) could be downsized and the people that were not needed could be rooted out.
God had to take them through the school of chiseling and sandpapering to brush out the things that need to be brushed out and bring in a generation that is prepared and well constructed.
Friendship is good; inevitably wonderful when you walk with the right person, but highly regrettable and destructible when you walk with the wrong person.
No two person stay happily and successfully in their relationship if their lifestyles does not match with each other ( Amos 3:3 )
Will a bird fall into a snare on the earth, where there is no trap for it? Capitally NO. When two people come to one faith that leads to trust and understanding, no one triggers another.
Because for friendship to be sustainable, reliable and benevolence, one must accept and trust the other.
From our text, we could see that those with whom we associate with we also acquire habits, and learn their ways, imbibe their spirit, show their tempers and walk in their steps.
Friendship is influential. And that informed the reason why the Bible has variously warned us to be careful of who we accept as a friend. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
When Satan wants to try to destroy someone’s destiny, he will bring wrong associations into his or her life.
Wrong association will make God reverse His promise for your life. Any association that is not making your dream realized, before it gets too late, should be discarded.
Child of God, it is preferable and advisable that you only associate with people who believe what you believe and appreciate your values.
Moreover, we should always examine the kinds of people we mingle around with. Because it is obvious, the wolves live among the sheep.
